Worldwide, the use of pesticides containing organophosphorus compounds (OP) has increased. As poisoning by these agents commonly occurs, anesthesiologists should be aware of these agents and their physiologic consequences. This week, we'll be discussing these agents. Today, we'll discuss some of the unusual clinical manifestations of these OP compounds.

  1. What are the effects of OP compounds on immunity to infection?
  2. Are there reproductive sequelae to OP compound exposure?
  3. What are the effects of OP compounds on temperature regulation?
